Mexico City, Agency
At least 21 people died when a bus collided with a truck Monday on the Mexico City-Queretaro federal highway, police said.
The accident happened in the early morning hours, when an Omnibus de Mexico company bus hit a truck hauling waste, dirt and gravel, police spokesmen told.

The crash occurred near the exit for the city of San Miguel de Allende, leaving both the bus and the truck completely burned.

The bus was heading to Fresnillo, a town in Zacatecas state, when the accident happened, police spokesmen said.

Police have not confirmed whether there were any survivors.

This was the third serious accident on the federal highway in the past two days.

Eleven people were killed early Sunday when a bus driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit a retaining wall on the San Juan del Rio-Queretaro stretch of the highway.

A truck hauling frozen fish flipped over on the Mexico City-Queretaro highway Monday morning near the Perinorte shopping center in the Mexico City metropolitan area.
