Egypt's former interior minister pleaded not guilty to corruption charges Saturday.
Habib al-Adly is facing charges of money laundering and profiteering.

Adly is an unpopular figure with the protesters who took part in the demonstrations that led to President Hosni Mubarak's ouster.

They blame Adly for the police beatings, the teargassing and the rubber bullets they faced during the protests.

Dozens of people demonstrated outside the court complex Saturday, demanding Adly receive the death sentence.

His hearing has been adjourned to April 2.
